We did it!! Album = funded.
104% funded. $18,785 raised. 221 backers. 5 days left.
I would like to propose a toast!
To your listening ears and the kindness you’ve shown me over this past month. To my family and my friends-become-family who remind me who I am and that the work of my hands matter. To Kelsey, whose toasts are prescient and whose intuition is true. And to this album—can’t wait to see what comes next, and yes, to be surprised.
I had the rare joy of experiencing something of a storybook moment last night—the Local Show was wrapping up, the songs were over, and my friend and coworker Shigé was closing out the night, when she turned to me and said, “There truly will be surprises, Drew, more than you know, because your Kickstarter is funded.”
I’ll never forget it. Life so rarely happens with such synchronicity, and I consider myself lucky to have enjoyed such a moment.
Stretch goals? Sure! We’ve got 5 days left. If we take this thing to $22k, my 8-song album will become a 10-song album. And if we get to $24k, that 10-song album will be pressed to vinyl.
But goodness gracious, let's bask for a moment first.
I'll send another update out on Monday morning the 13th, which will be the last full day you can pledge to my campaign (unless, of course, we hit a stretch goal between now and then—in which case you'll be hearing from me sooner).
Until then, thank you, everybody, so very much.
